Teaser Tuesday #39

This is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.

To participate you:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
  • (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) * Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teasers
I'm starting to see why Eldest was so ... so desperate.
...
When I'm done talking, I realize how silent she's been the whole time.
"Amy?" I ask softly.
She meets my eyes.
"Does this mean ... can I wake my parents up now?"
Seriously? It's the same story as it was with the first one. It had been sitting on my shelf forever and I really have no excuse for not picking it up any sooner. It's surprisingly fast-paced and I'm taken aback by some of the revelations that have happened throughout the first 81 pages. So far so good.

p. 52-53 of A Million Suns (Across the Universe #2) by Beth Revis

  1. I really need to get around to reading this series, I am one of the only people in the Blogoverse who haven't! I'm happy this second instalment is working out well for you!

  7. "A Million Suns" was full of twists at every turn! I never would have thought that *that* was what happened, and I heard Beth Revis originally wanted to make "Across the Universe" into a standalone but she was notified of a mistake (something related to *that*) and was inspired to write about it in the next book.
