The Seven Deadly Sins Tag

Hiiii, lovelies! Today was originally supposed to be my August wrap up day, but nope. My gorgeous Bosnian beauty Tanja @ Ja citam, a ti? tagged me in The Seven Deadly Sins tag. (Just a fair warning that if you're commenting on this post, I may not reply back right away as I usually do since uni started yesterday and so did my masters studies, so I'm being a little busy with school right now seeing as my schedule is all kinds of crazy.) I've never done a tag on my blog (only on instagram and twitter) and this was such a fun one! I hope my over the top subtle fangirling over all things Coballoway doesn't freak you out since you ought to be used to it by now. Let me know some of your answers and be sure to scroll down to the end of the post to see who I've tagged :) Talk to you soon! x

Greed

What's your most inexpensive book? Well, I own a ton of sale or free ebooks, but from physical books it used to be the original UK paperback of Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi (but I gave it to a friend since I owned 4 copies in total which two were/are hardcovers and she really loved the book so I told her to keep it) but now? Hmm.. It may be Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer or Until I Die by Amy Plum.

Wrath

What author do you have love/hate relationship with? Um, can I say Rainbow Rowell? Because I really can’t think of any. I usually either dislike all of the author’s books or vice versa or in between, but there usually isn’t that much of a mix thing. Anyhow, I didn’t enjoy Eleanor and Park, but I loved Fangirl so it counts, yeah? Ohh! I actually have one! I love JLA’s books, but I hate how she recycles all her characters and their personalities (and jokes). It’s the same story every time, just different title, character names and settings. I still love her books regardless (except for Frigid which I thoroughly disliked).

Gluttony

What book have you devoured over and over again with no shame? KISS THE SKY BY KRISTA AND BECCA RITCHIE. I CONSTANTLY REREAD IT DURING MY LUNCH BREAKS AT WORK THIS SUMMER BECAUSE I JUST WANTED MY DAILY COBALLOWAY LOVE. I HAVE REREAD THE EBOOK FOR AT LEAST 6 TIMES ALREADY AND MY PAPERBACK IS CURRENTLY BEING MARKED (SO MAKE THAT 7. AT THE VERY LEAST.) AND I JUST LOVE MY OTP OF ALL OTPS AND MY FAVORITE CHARACTER AND ALL THE RELATIONSHIPS AND THE COMPLICATED PLOT AND STORYLINES AND THE TWISTS AND EMOTIONS AND THIS SENTENCE IS REALLY LONG AND I’VE WRITTEN IT IN ONE BREATH. *TAKES A DEEP BREATH* OK. I’M GOOD NOW. (IF THIS ISN’T A SIGN THAT I’M TEARY EYED AND NEED FUEL THE FIRE RIGHT NOW THEN IDK WHAT THIS IS OKAY.)

Sloth

Which book have you neglected reading due to laziness? I don’t leave books unread because of laziness, I leave them unread because I’m not in the mood or don’t have enough time. But if I could change the question to “not in the mood” then I’d say that Nick, Jas and I were all guilty of this because we were supposed to read Never Fade together but none of us went through with it for different reasons and mine was not being in the right mood for a dystopian novel no matter that this series is one of the most wonderful dystopians and I love it with passion.

Pride

What book do you most talk about in order to sound like an intellectual reader? Um. Um. UMMMMM. WHAT EVEN IS THIS QUESTION? All books make you sound like an intellectual reader! Readers are intellectual creatures by nature. But I’d say that.. Ok, idk what to say actually. Um. *scratches head* I don’t usually flaunt my reading material around to sound like an intellectual reader, I do it to book push my favorites on people and discuss stuff, but.. Ok, I have no idea what you want or expect me to say, so I’ll just go with Harry Potter because if you don’t know what accio and alohomora mean then I feel sorry for you.

Lust

What attributes do you find attractive in male or female character? If you reallllllly want to know then go ahead and read Kiss the Sky right now, come back and we can discuss. Ok, but since you’re asking nicely then..

Rose Calloway is my inspiration and I want to be her when I finally grow up (because hello! 22 is still too young to be fully grown up). She’s fiery, fiercely loyal, strong, a feminist, never backs down from a fight, she knows her worth, is confident (and I’m crying now because I love this character to another galaxy and back). She’s also protective of her loved ones, brutally honest, and when she feels something? She feels it with her whole heart and soul. There is no half-way for Rose Calloway. She isn’t perfect, because pride (like my fatal flaw) is her biggest downfall, but she’s the fiercest bitch you’ll ever meet. She’s my icon.

Connor Cobalt is just everything and beyond. Like. (Ugh. ‘em bloody tears!) He’s another species of human kind basically. He’s not just smart, he’s intelligent through and through. He’s driven by wanting to be the best, but he doesn’t smash people or destroy them to get there; he just beats them by being better. He says it best in Kiss the Sky:

“I grew up wanting to reach the peak of physical and mental perfection. It’s an unattainable goal. But one I set. One I seek.
People hope to touch the sky.
I dream of kissing it.”

So you see? He’s a perfectionist and I’m pretty much the same. I always try to give my best when I really want something and I never back down from a fight that means a lot to me. He’s extremely passionate underneath his poker face and when you truly matter to him? Well, he’ll give you these small pieces of himself that make you crave for more and more and more. I love that he never judges people and is the perfect gentleman in every situation, even when he wants to smash someone’s head in because they’re bullying his friends or making the people he loves uncomfortable. He finds the classy way out and has a solution for every problem. He’s a fixer. He’s a leader and.. I never look at wallflowers tbh. While there’s nothing wrong with wallflowers, in my opinion, there’s something so incredibly hot about confident guys. Though let me make it clear that douches and confident guys are not the same! Connor never treats Rose with nothing but utmost respect and admiration. He reads people well and adjusts himself and his behavior to different situations which I admire since I’m more like Rose who doesn’t know how to hold back or doesn’t tame herself in situations that require a different approach. He’s a smartass and his comments are bound to make you laugh. He has this infuriating yet so lovable grin and I love it when his grin turns into a laugh *thinks back to chapter 11 of Kiss the Sky* or when he insults people with insults that aren’t proper insults, but they’re so funny because some people *eyes Scott* really do deserve those insults and Connor has the funniest way of saying them. Oh, was I supposed to just list a few personality traits or something? Um. Oops. SORRY NOT SORRY. I'm not even close enough to end this but for the sake of your sanity I will. I love my otp and Rose is my queen and Connor is my king and my Coballoway love is limitless and endless and timeless (because that made a whole lot sense in my head). They give me so many feels that I basically look like this whenever I read about them:

(I mean.. I have horrible graphic making skills, but I participated in the Thrive challenge the amazing Sue put together (warning though that Addicted Series Daily contains some spoilery graphics) and managed to come up with these not-horrible graphics for my otp and I think (hope) they give the message of why I love and admire them. You can find one of them here and the other one here.)

ALSO, IF YOU HAVE NOT READ CHAPTER TEN OF KISS THE SKY? *FAINTS* YOU HAVE NOT LIVED YOUR LIFE.

Envy

What book would you most like to receive as a gift? Well, you can never go wrong with assassins or dragons :)

  1. I AM ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED YOU TALKED ABOUT KRISTA AND BECCA'S BOOKS. This is a revelation. You've never mentioned them before. Ever. Who is this Connor person? ;) (did Lily tell you she read the first book and loved it? I still haven't read it yet . . . but you can't be mad because you love me anyway. Also: I'm writing your letter :D)

    1. Haaaaa haaaa. You're killing me with your dry British humor. Yep :) I got on her nerves a lot I think so she read almost all of them and loved them all too. And yesss! I need date night details :)

  2. Eeeep A TAG. XD I've been tagged like 3 times for this and I wanted to do it with Mime, but she keeps getting sick so. SO I'M JUST GOING TO HAVE TO DO IT ALONE. The questions are kind of dang awesome. Although I'm still trying to think of what book I talk about to sound intellectual. I like to say I HAVE read LOTR (I don't admit the part where I fell asleep through it because there are dedicated fans and I wish to keep living...although maybe I read it when I was too young and didn't really appreciate it?). LOTR is huge. It makes me feel smart. *struts a little*

Whywhywhy have I not read Kiss the Sky? YOU LIKE RAVE ABOUT KRISTA AND BECCA RITCHIE SO SO MUCH AND I HAVEN'T READ THEIR BOOKS YET AND I THINK I SHOULD.

  3. I literally read the tag name and than started scrolling down until I saw Kristia and Becca Ritchie. I was literally like "Okay, I wonder how many times Siiri is goings to mention them and their books since it's Siiri" LOL you never disappoint

  4. *runs off to read chapter 10*

I will meet these characters one day Siiri, I WILL!!!! And that Harry Potter gif made me snort. I love Hermione so much. I remember reading Harry Potter just so I was in the loop on the book everyone was talking about, so I guess that kind of fits with the Pride label. I agree completely with Envy, you really can't go wrong with assassins or dragons. Dragon assassins? HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE?

Good luck with your first few days of uni my friend!

  5. LOL I'm actually quite surprised that you didn't put Connor in all seven sins! xD But girl that gif for HP books has got me in stitches! It's so hilarious and let's be serious but those books should be put into assigned reads for kids in school. We should start a revolution and change the curriculum. :D But yeah! Sorry for ruining your schedule btw, but you had fun doing this! ;) I know it. And oh, have fun at uni (if that's even possible!). :D

  6. Hahahah OMG Siiri, this is amazing!! :D COBALLOWAY FEELS! *__*
You've described precisely why I admire Rose and want a Connor of my own! ^_^
    :) xoxox

  7. What a neat idea! I'm terrible at stuff like this, but I love the Seven Deadly as s topic starter. I also love that quote from Connor Cobalt. He definitely intrigued me!

    Also, good luck with school!

  8. What a fun idea! I might just tag myself :)
An author I have a love hate relationship with is Lauren Oliver. Her writing is so damn beautiful...but it's also boring sometimes. And what is up with her not being able to give us a real ending like ever?
I agree about the JLA thing. She's a good storyteller. But Katy sounds like Alex who sounds like Layla. And the boys either sound like Daemon, Aiden or Seth. I still like them but...
And PS, I started Addicted To You this morning! I usually don't get to read until night but at least I started it! I'm spending the rest of the week (and possibly next week) with the Addicted gang!

  9. What is this book by Krista and Becca you keep mentioning and why haven't I seen it around more often?! And chapter 10?!?!?! I'm so intrigued right now! What an awesome tag and great answers as well. JLA is an author that people keep pushing me to read but I don't know...I just never found an interest in picking up her books. And how that I know she recycles characters...meh!

Good luck with your masters Siiri, I'm sure you'll ace it as usual xx

  10. Lol your love for Connor! He was great wasn't he! I really want to go back and reread Kiss the Sky and Hothouse Flower. great picks!

  11. Oh man Siiri, I've read the Harry Potters (except for book 7--I know I know!!!) but I don't know what alohomora means!! Care to elaborate?? Accio means I think to take something from someone. Oh, I am so hopeless....
    Awesome answers Siiri!!

  12. I still need to read the Addicted series! I have to do that this month because I'm seeing them next month!! Good luck with starting school back up, Siiri! :)

  13. MAJOR COBALLOWAY FEELS!!!! And that quote *sigh* <3 One thing I love about Connor is how he doesn't get physical, he beats them with words. But when he punched Scott, I was screaming and cheering and clapping my hands. They set the bar high on all attractive attributes, "Maybe they are extraterrestrials." ;)

Um... is it bad that I haven't finished the Harry Potter series? I read up to book 4 so SO long ago and never finished the rest. I loved the movies though so I know what alohomora means but I'm drawing a blank on accio heheh. I need to finish it but I'm so hesitant to dive in again >__<

    Anywho, FANTASTIC POST! :D

  15. Ohhh this is so much fun! I think I could read your blog all day, Siiri - you are just too funny. :D NEVER GROW UP, OK? :)

  16. Oh Siiri of course this would turn into the raving about your OTP - and I loved it! I just love how you described Connor and so far I have found that fierce loyalty and intelligence within him and him being able to read the situation and people. I just love him and Rose so far and can't wait to get to Kiss the Sky! Really great post Siiri!

  17. Haha Way to write your entire gluttony paragraph in CAPS, but I think I got the message. ;) You LOVE Kiss the Sky. And, Harry Potter totally counts as a smart read. LOL I also 100% agree with your thoughts on assassins and dragons. Thanks for sharing your deadly sins tag list. Happy Friday!

  18. First off: good luck with school!

I never take 'pride' in reading certain books.. You should always read them for fun, not because it can make you sound smart. Haha, your Gluttony answer.

  19. Oh I LOVE this post! So much fun to get a little bit more about you. You are seriously making me so EXCITED to read this Addicted series. For a while ! was NERVOUS (I still am a bit - will it live up to my expectations?!), but now I can't wait. But I have sooo many other books to read and life is busy now with school beginning again - not for me (Hope it's going well for you though!!). And I'm afraid I'll get obsessed and want to read all 7 or 9 that are out. I can't remember now, but I've bookmarked the order. Anyway, I need to wait until I can devote myself to them. Maybe I should take a week off? Haha. I wish. I love seeing how much you love those characters, and this post is fantastic. HAPPY SCHOOLING!

  20. Too much love for Kiss the Sky! Hahaha. I adore you so much Siiri and your fangirliness! One of these days, I'm gonna meet all these characters and I hope I'll have this intense feels too. XD I have to agree with Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor and Park. I didn't quite like it but I thoroughly loved Fangirl so much. Oh, I have Never Fade as a review copy too. But I never got to read it because of reasons. Oops. Anyyyy, don't let Uni bring you down, Siiri. And you tagged me! Awww, can't wait to do this lovely! *hugs*
