Where's Your Head At?

Hellllllo, gorgeous people!

You may or may not have noticed my lack of posts compared to previous periods where I posted 4-5 times a week. Unfortunately getting a MSc degree isn't as easy as BSc so I'm drowning in school work, and honestly lacking the motivation in everything (including blogging, commenting and reading) atm. I wish I was as kick-a as people who have their own families, go to school/work and still manage to be flawless in this community, but nope. Right now I feel like this blog is more of a chore than something I do for fun, so I'm taking a break by tryig to ace all the school stuff, making Spotify lists, hanging out with friends, going to the movies and reading without obsessing over "when will I ever get around writing this review because I'm so darn behind ugh". I don't want to hear that line in my head.

I want to be stress free and look at a book all "ooooh la la, you look mighty fine, bae; I want to take you on a date, devour you, ship your ships and get all the feels"

Now that's more like it! Hopefully this will happen and I'll learn to enjoy books this way again and more 5 star reads will happen too. Anyhow, will probably be back sometime at the end of October (if things go well) or beginning of November (with my Addicted After All review, because that's bound to happen no matter what).

I'm still on twitter (what is life without twitter, yo), instagram, goodreads, tumblr and basically everywhere else except for this blog. I'll try and slowly comment back for every comment left under my Afterworlds review, but be patient with me. I hope you won't forget about me during this (very necessary) hiatus and come talk to me on twitter when you have time.

With all my love,
Siiri

  1. AWWW, SIIRI, I'M GOING TO MISS YOUR FRABJOUSNESS! :'( *cries* BUT YOU HAVE A REALLY FANTABULOUS BREAK YOU HEAR ME??!!!! Blogging is gotta be FUN not a chore, and also, schoolwork and real life should come before blogging. It's so hard otherwise as you end up stressing massively on both things and then your nerves explode. NOT NICE. SO YOU DON'T THINK OF BLOGGING UNTIL YOU WANT TO, KAY??!! (But if you're not back by November I'm a coming after you with a virtual pitchfork and I will not stop prodding you until you come back. SO THERE. x))

Have a great time off, lovely, I'll be thinking of you! <33

  2. Oh Siiri, you and I are in the same position. I don't have school that's pulling me away, but I am pulling back just the same. Good luck!

  3. Enjoy your time off Siiri!!! I honestly don't know how any of you who are still in school manage to blog and keep up with all your classes. I know I wouldn't be able to do it! Breaks are definitely necessary when the blog becomes more chore than source of enjoyment, so I hope the time off energizes you and gets you excited to read and blog again! *massive hugs*

  4. I will miss you, but thank goodness we have Viber so we can chat together whenever! :) I completely understand where you're coming from. School is more important than your blog, so that should come first.
    Love you! <3

  5. No worries lovely, we understand! Your education comes first. I'm working on pulling back some too. I'm glad you'll still be active on Twitter (so true, what would I do without it), cause I gotta be able to connect with you somehow!!! KEEP ON BEING AWESOME, YOU HEAR?! BUT DON'T OVER DO IT TOO MUCH *cheers with pom-poms* <3

  6. Having a blog feeling like a chore is the worst! When that happens to me, I always take a break too. I think the fact that I have my other 'fun and me' blogs to keep me interested help me from feeling burned out. Have a great break!

  7. Awww sweetheart I'll miss seeing your posts but you know that I'll stalk you no matter what. YOU CANNOT HIDE from me now, dove! :) But I'm sure that you'll enjoy and we all need some time off from time to time ;)

  8. I think a break is definitely the perfect idea. School comes first. I get overwhelmed at times too with my family and work, and a step back for a bit always seems to help. Good luck to you!! And we'll all be here to happily welcome you back when you're ready. :)

  9. If blogging is feeling like a chore or a job, then you definitely need break, Siiri! This should be a fun hobby. You're right to make school your preference. Good luck in school Siiri! :)

  11. I've already forgotten about you. I'M SORRY, WHO ARE YOU? WHOSE BLOG IS THIS? WHY AM I COMMENTING ON THIS RANDOM SITE?

    . . . love you :P

Seriously though, enjoy the break. Kick back. RUB IT IN HOW YOU WENT TO THE CINEMA TO SEE MAZE RUNNER WHEN I HAVEN'T HAD THE CHANCE YET. And focus on school work because, really, that's more important than blogging. I'll probably end up hiatusing when I go back to do my Masters. SO I FEEL YA, FRIEND.

Have you pre-ordered AAA? I'm thinking I might. WE TOTALLY NEED TO BUDDY READ THAT OMG

  12. Aww...I'm sorry you're feeling so bombarded by work at the moment Siiri! School is always a priority, so I'm impressed that you're taking initiative and letting go of something you love (at least temporarily!) so you can focus on that. I hope you put all the hard work and dedication you do while blogging and put that right into your schoolwork. Keep us updated, okay? <3 You'll be missed! <3

  14. Aww Siiri, I will miss your reviews but at least I can still cling on to you on Twitter ;) I hope your uni work treats you well, and take as long of a break as you need! You deserve it. :D No blogger ever wants to hear a blogger friend say that blogging is becoming a chore. :( I hope you fall in love with books again soon xx

  17. BUT I MISS READING YOUR POSTS. *throws tantrum* Still...I understand that reading sucks if you don't feel motivated. And blogging should so not be a chore. I HOPE YOU SURVIVE SCHOOL.

  18. I totally understand! Sometimes blogging feels more like a chore than a hobby - I miss the days of reading and not having to worry about writing a review. It's so much extra work having a blog! Anywho, TAKE YOUR TIME. I will surely be conversing with you on Twitter. I hope everything with school goes well. <3333

  19. Awww! I feel your pain my dear. I have been the same lately (sans the school work and all that jazz). I said I was going to try to be more active on social media and reading more blogs and commenting on the blogs that I do follow and it's just not happening for me right now. My focus has shifted more towards the little one so everything else is going to the back burner and I'll get to them when I get the chance (or really late at night when the little one is asleep) *sigh* so much to do so little time. You're pretty kick ass yourself so don't self yourself short! Conquer that MSc degree like a boss *hair flip* You've got your priorities straight!

  20. Aw, I completely understand you, Siiri. There are times when the blog does seem like a chore than a passion that we're all pursuing. And I know how tough studies are. So, I wish you all the best for your studies and whenever you post, I'll be looking forward to reading what you have to say. Besides, we always have Instagram! *winks*
