April Wrap Up and Giveaway

Eeep, one more month until I graduate. These first three years at uni have been tough, especially the last one. They wouldn't have been that hard if I wasn't blogging, but what can I say? I love it, so abandoning it? Nope, not gonna happen. You might have noticed my absence on my blog, commenting back and whatnot, but I have one month left to complete all my BA courses, finish my thesis and I have to work too so blogging had to stop for a while. No posts other than this one in May either. I have all the comments I need to "return the favor to, if you must" bookmarked so I'll do that when my thesis defence is done. Plus, you can always talk to me on twitter, because I'm still around there and I love talking to you all :) Anyhow, moving on to the wrap up..

Reading

Books read in total? Eeeeeem, I read 4 books and I'm still reading one. The books I read are: Things I Can't Forget by Miranda Kenneally, Shadows by Paula Weston, Dark Lover by J.R. Ward, Red at Night by Katie McGarry and I'm reading Tempest by Julie Cross atm. Not a bad month considering the workload at uni. Plus, I'm having a bit of a reading slump in general so 4 books is totally awesome.

Lowest and highest ratings are 4.1 and 1.5.

Book boyfriend of the month... as much as I adore Rafa (Shadows), I really fell in love with Matt from Things I Can't Forget. He's so swoon-worthy, down to earth, a genuinely good guy and he plays a guitar and sings. What more is there to say? ;)

Love triangles? None :)

Suck and sweet? Suck is deciding overnight to not blog until I'm done with my thesis defence so I cancelled all my scheduled posts, but sweet? I really don't know what to choose, but I'm going with the redesign gone right (in my opinion): Breathe, Annie, Breathe by Miranda Kenneally, which is promising to look extremely gorgeous next to the previous 4 paperbacks of the series that I already own. Can't wait to devour this pretty :)

What I'm planning on reading this month... No plans whatsoever. Reading science articles for thesis, reading stuff for tests in different subjects, reading.. non-fiction basically. But I'll try to finish Tempest which I still haven't finished. Reading about 2-3 pages per night because that's all I can manage right now. 70 pages left so it should be manageable :D

What were your favorite books last month? Any new book boyfriends I should know about? (Or any old crushes returning to the pages you were reading?) ;) How many books did you read? What are you planning on reading this month?

  2. Yay you read Scarlet!!! I LOVE that book. It's still my favourite of the Lunar Chronicles, which isn't say much I guess, because I've given them all 5-stars so far. x) I'd totally love to read the Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight someday too. Eeeeven if I wasn't such a fan of The Geography. Never know until you try, right? x)

  3. I most definitely approve of the redesign of Breathe Annie Breathe as well- the yellow/white cover was so gross. And didn't match the others AT ALL. I'd still like some grass on the cover, tbh though haha.
Man, I really need to get round to reading Shadows. So many people have rated it highly!

  4. Oh thanks for the really nice giveaway. I love the statistical but I confess I'm curious about Scarlet as I heard a lot of great things about it.

  5. I read about 4 books last month too, and like I'm ok with that considering all the uni assignments I had to give in. Won't be reading or blogging this month either, since I have exams. After May 15 though I will be freeee! Can't wait. :D Gl with your thesis!

  8. Ooo you read Dark Lover? What did you think? I love the Brothers something fierce. Wrath's book wasn't my favorite, that award goes to Z's book (book 3), but I love that series overall and can't wait for your reaction to it! Good luck with all your school work, I hope you have a little bit of a break from it coming up soon:)

  10. Wow! I wish you all the best in your final months of Uni! That's amazing, I bet you can't wait! I have missed you around the blogosphere and your teen wolf gifs that I've seen of late. ;) I really hope you enjoy Shadows I loved that one and Rafa is a beauty! ;) Favourite on of the month for me has to be The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith or Storm by Brigid Kemmerer. Loved them. Thank you so much for the giveaway, if I had to chose I'll go for Hothouse Flower as that was one of my favourite reviews of yours. Lovely post my dear! :)

  11. Good luck with school and congratulations!
Thank goodness for audiobooks because I've been reading only one book a week lately. Luckily, I can listen to 2-3 audiobooks a week so I'm not missing out.
The third Miranda Kenneally book was my least favorite...I do love the new cover of Breathe Annie, although I still don't think it matches the other books.
I really liked Tempest, hope you do too!

  29. Good luck with your last month of schoolwork, Siiri! I recently graduated so I know how the last month feels. I remember sleepless nights and endless cups of coffees and nightmares during the day, lol. I am wishing you a lot of luck, although I have a feeling you don't need it ;) Rock on, sister!

  30. Yay for no love triangles this month! I agree, Matt is definitely a worthy book boyfriend. I feel like I have so many book boyfriends its verging on promiscuous, but he's definitely one that sticks out in my memory. :-)

I know that school can be very stressful and I would totally put the blog aside if I were in your shoes. Good luck on finishing your coursework and your thesis!
