Waiting on Wednesday is hosted at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating. Wow, it's been such a long time since I took part in one. The last WoW post on Little Pieces of Imagination was on February 20, 2013 O.o But I love sharing all the excitement and have missed these posts so let's try this again :) This week's pick is a very anticipated YA read that promises to be perfect for a warm summer night.
Title: On the Fence
Author: Kasie West
Published: July 1st 2014
Add It: Goodreads
She's a tomboy. He's the boy next door…
Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she's got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she's falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.
Fun, original, and endearing, On the Fence is a romantic comedy about finding yourself and finding love where you least expect.
Why?
Well, Kasie West is an author that so many people love and adore. Her writing is so adorable and the books just fly by. I haven't felt the ultimate magic in either of the books I have read: The Distance Between Us and Pivot Point. They were good reads, but not amazing, so I'm not expecting to be magnificent, but a great summer read? Sure! She always has these totes adorbs guys and wonderful families included in stories, so definitely looking forward to that.
What are you guys looking forward to this week? :)
I definitely recommend not expecting something magnificent. I expected it and ultimately it ended up being my least favorite Kasie West novel.
ReplyDeleteStill, it's a cute read if you're looking for something light and fun! :)
I haven't read any books by West, and despite the hype I'm not sure if I ever will. It's nice to read a cute/fun read every now and then, especially during summer. They always make me smile! :) I'm def planning on reading some between all the fantasy, etc that I usually read.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by this author but I keep seeing this book around and there are some great reviews of it. I hope you'll enjoy when you get to read it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm usually not a fan of contemporaries, but every now and then I need a fun & cute one to break up all the darker books I read. This one looks adorable, I just added it on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteBetween Bookends
I have been curious about this author...and this book looks like fun. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: “BIG LITTLE LIES”
I love Kasie West's books, but I never actually picked one up! I'm definitely checking this one out and Pivot Point, hopefully it delivers!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading

I've read Pivot Point by Kasie West before, and I'm looking forward to picking up Split Second, although I didn't fall in love with PP like a lot of people did. Glad I'm not alone on that front. ;) I am, however, also looking forward to this one!! It sounds like such a cute summer read, PLUS, it comes out soon, which is always a plus!!
ReplyDeleteLovely pick! <33

I like the idea of this book, I hope it lives up to my expectations for it as well. I haven't read any other Kasie West story so I might have to pick up one to try.
ReplyDeleteI love Kasie West, hope you like this :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of Kasie West's books yet, but I'm looking forward to eventually giving one a try. I hope you enjoy this!
ReplyDeleteI've not read anything by this author before, but I have seen this book around so much! Great pick Siiri and thanks for stopping by :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a contemporary YA fan at all but this one looks like a cute summer read. I hope you like it when you read it!

ReplyDeleteNemo @ Blame it on the book
I haven't read anything of Katie West but this book sounds cute and interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
Aimee really loved this one so you're definitely in for a good treat! I've yet to finish a Kasie West book .-. I don't know but she just never clicks with me haha. I think I DNFed two books by her now~ Then again, I was never a huge fan of Contemporary, and I'm very picky of this genre. I am very positive you'll like this one though ;)

I've heard much love for this book already, Siiri. I read Pivot Point and really enjoyed it. July 1st is not too far off so you'll be able to get your hands on this soon. Great choice! :)
ReplyDeleteI heard so many great things about this one, I know I need to try it one day!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a sweet read, I know I'd like it!
ReplyDeleteThanx for visiting my WoW!

I just one-clicked The Distance Between Us yesterday (or the day before that?). And Siiri . . . I have NEVER read anything by Kasie West before. Not even Pivot Point . . . I KNOW. I'm going to as soon as I get control over my arcs again. Really!
ReplyDeleteI didn't love The Distance Between Us. I think I was the ONLY person who felt that way. BOO me! BUT I really really enjoyed this story. It was happy and adorable. I hope you get a chance to read this soon and that you love it when you do!
ReplyDeleteI think I read the prequel to this book. I can't remember the name of it, but I remember something about china dolls and a rich boyfriend. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hope you enjoy this one :)
