Waiting on Wednesday #16

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating. Wow, it's been such a long time since I took part in one. The last WoW post on Little Pieces of Imagination was on February 20, 2013 O.o But I love sharing all the excitement and have missed these posts so let's try this again :) This week's pick is a very anticipated YA read that promises to be perfect for a warm summer night.

Title: On the Fence
Author: Kasie West
Published: July 1st 2014
Add It: Goodreads
She's a tomboy. He's the boy next door…
Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she's got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she's falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.
Fun, original, and endearing, On the Fence is a romantic comedy about finding yourself and finding love where you least expect.

Why?

Well, Kasie West is an author that so many people love and adore. Her writing is so adorable and the books just fly by. I haven't felt the ultimate magic in either of the books I have read: The Distance Between Us and Pivot Point. They were good reads, but not amazing, so I'm not expecting to be magnificent, but a great summer read? Sure! She always has these totes adorbs guys and wonderful families included in stories, so definitely looking forward to that.

What are you guys looking forward to this week? :)

  1. I definitely recommend not expecting something magnificent. I expected it and ultimately it ended up being my least favorite Kasie West novel.
Still, it's a cute read if you're looking for something light and fun! :)

  2. I haven't read any books by West, and despite the hype I'm not sure if I ever will. It's nice to read a cute/fun read every now and then, especially during summer. They always make me smile! :) I'm def planning on reading some between all the fantasy, etc that I usually read.

  4. I'm usually not a fan of contemporaries, but every now and then I need a fun & cute one to break up all the darker books I read. This one looks adorable, I just added it on my TBR list.

  7. I've read Pivot Point by Kasie West before, and I'm looking forward to picking up Split Second, although I didn't fall in love with PP like a lot of people did. Glad I'm not alone on that front. ;) I am, however, also looking forward to this one!! It sounds like such a cute summer read, PLUS, it comes out soon, which is always a plus!!

    Lovely pick! <33

  14. Aimee really loved this one so you're definitely in for a good treat! I've yet to finish a Kasie West book .-. I don't know but she just never clicks with me haha. I think I DNFed two books by her now~ Then again, I was never a huge fan of Contemporary, and I'm very picky of this genre. I am very positive you'll like this one though ;)
