It's been months since Aria learned of her mother's death.
Months since Perry became Blood Lord of the Tides, and months since Aria last saw him.
Now Aria and Perry are about to be reunited. It's a moment they've been longing for with countless expectations. And it's a moment that lives up to all of them. At least, at first.
Then it slips away. The Tides don't take kindly to former Dwellers like Aria. And the tribe is swirling out of Perry's control. With the Aether storms worsening every day, the only remaining hope for peace and safety is the Still Blue. But does this haven truly exist?
Threatened by false friends and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night?

When I first read Under the Never Sky, I wasn’t blown away. Yeah, it was original, had pretty cool characters, the romance was good, but it was just good, nothing amazing. Then, as time passed, I became to realize that I was head-over-heels in love with this world and the characters. They didn’t let their grip on me go and even held on stronger than ever before. As the release date for Into the Still Blue came closer, I finally decided to read Through the Ever Night and binge read the series in two days. Hellllllls yeah! UtNS was better than ever and TtEN was just as amazing if not better.
“Love is a rebellious bird that nobody can tame.”

This world is crazy unique. I liked how we got more world building. At first, imagining the pods and the Outside with the Aether was just.. a tad confusing, dare I say. By the end of Under the Never Sky, Rossi gives us a fairly well-built world, but the building doesn’t stop there. In Through the Ever Night I got my questions on how this system of Dwellers and Outsiders came to be, why it was necessary and what else may lie beyond the horizon.

The characters went through immense growth. Perry has to endure so much responsibility as a Blood Lord and I just wanted the guy to have a break, but NO. Oh, no! He has more to carry on his shoulders than ever before, but I was sure he would do everything in his power to save his people; to save his family. As for Aria, she always manages to surprise me with her strength. What once was a scared girl has now developed into a beautiful, strong, wise young woman and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

Ah, but I can’t leave this review to be without mentioning the romance. This is the perfect example of the plot being driven by love, but still not overtaking it. We see glimpses of Aria and Perry thinking about each other, missing the other person (even when they’re just a few steps apart), constantly worrying and remembering, but they always take a step forward to reach their own goals. The last two chapters had me dying of swoon, people!

I’d like to mention two other characters. Firstly, Soren. Never did I see myself saying this, but I like the guy. I truly do. Rossi gave his character growth with effortless ease and I like how he’s developed into something honorable and worth respect. Secondly, Roar. *SOBS* My heart broke into a million pieces, may I say, though on another note, a thousand yes’s to keeping Roar and Aria’s relationship platonic. Not every relationship is supposed to be romantic and their beautiful friendship is humbling to watch.

All in all, this series is one of my absolute favorites. I really don’t know what I was thinking when I first rated UtNS 4 stars, because it deserves all the stars in the world. Oops! I guess we’re all just flawed creatures bound to make mistakes every now and then lol. I absolutely adored Through the Ever Night and it’s a strong sequel to the original, compelling and swoon-worthy first book.
