Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them.Until something does.Demon breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that really can kill you. Somehow the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends—one of whom is already hooked. And so is someone else…

Soul Seekers series is filled with loads of potential. I think it’s like with Vampire Academy – the first two books are like build up for the rest of them and that’s when the real action begins. My Soul to Keep was definitely darker and more twisted than the previous ones. It was different, but enjoyed it quite a bit!

“Was I wearing my 'I'm done with my virginity, please get rid of it for me' T-shirt?”

So.. *ahem* I adored Nash in the previous books. He was sweet, understanding, patient, compassionate, protective and sexy. But I didn’t remember him being so horny all the time. Yeah, there was a lot of smooching and smexy going on, but never like this. In addition to making out, this book had some really dark stuff going on from the very start. Things quickly took a turn towards bad and after a while even from bad to worse.

I still think I’m smarter than Kaylee. I mean… Come on, Kaylee! Those balloons? Did you ever think that you were the one who came to that idea in the first place? Why didn’t you consider that possibility? Didn’t it seem familiar? At the first mention of balloons I knew what it was. I didn’t know who the catalyst was to this though and boy did it took me by surprise!

The character who really came to life in this installment was Tod – my snarky, sweet, selfish, yet selfless, handsome reaper. I just love you so much! I didn’t think you’d steal my heart away from Nash, but you did. You’re plain awesome!! I wish we could have had more scenes with Kay’s Dad, too. He is another character I absolutely adore. He knows he made a mistake by leaving her years ago, but now he’s here, trying to make up for the years they lost and he is doing a darn awesome job! LOL @ his attitude and “Go home, Nash!“ comments. Bahahahhaha. Poor Nash…

“I got swirling eyes and the capacity to shatter windows with my bare voice. Tod got teleportation and invisibility. The supernatural world is so far from fair.”

I feel like this is a turning point in this series and for that I’m glad. I want things to go even darker. Hopefully the following books are going to be that and feature more Kaylee’s Father and Tod. *fingers crossed* Oh, and by the way, there was a cover reveal for the third volume. I already purchased it and when I did, it was under 6€ (8$) on TBD and it has books 5 and 6 and Sophie’s novella in it. Quite a great deal, if you ask me and that cover doesn’t hurt my eyes either ;) Anyway, I cannot wait to clear my schedule and read the next one already.

  1. Things definitely go darker as the series goes on! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and YESSSSSS, Tod! He's been my favourite all the way through, but I really started to love him in this one. And Nash -____- I despise him.

    1. Hahaha. Tod is a sneaky bastard! In a good way ofcourse. I didn't expect to love him so much. Eeep! I'm so excited for what's next to come:) I feel bad for Nash, but I don't think there's any chance of him redeeming himself in Kaylee's eyes -.-

  2. I haven't read the first few books in the series, and I do plan to so I just skimmed a bit and checked out your number rating. Happy to see that this series is getting better for you, I feel like I remember the first one not getting this high? Anyway, glad you're enjoying the series!

    1. No probs! I hope you'll like 'em once you start. They're pretty good. And you're right! The first one wasn't exactly up my alley, but they've become their own:)

  3. I think I would really like this series Siiri! I tend to gravitate toward series that get progressively darker as they go, and that is clearly the case here. I've been seeing lots of Team Nash and Team Tod banners and tweets and things for years now, but somehow I think Tod and his snark are going to be my team in the end. Even if it's the losing team (I have no idea if that's true or not) :) So glad you're liking these books more as they go!

    1. I know you liked her adult series, right? I hope to read them soon. You know.. I wasn't aware of those teams after I already started this series, but peolpe are pretty passionate about these guys :D Tod is definitely the snarky one and I can't believe I switched teams. I never do.. This is so ridiculous *blushes* But I think Tod's worth it:)

  4. Sigh... I disagree w/almost everyone on this series. I felt like Tod got too much praise b/c he and Kaylee pretty much forced Nash into the situation that got him addicted. I mean, Kaylee is brave and she helps others, but she's also stupid sometimes, too. Don't get me wrong, I think Tod is great. Look at Reaper! I think it's all the Nash Bashing that has turned me off.
Anyway... I'm glad you liked this. Great review!

    1. Hmhhh.. I know where you're getting at. I think what Nash did was wrong, but I agree that it wasn't entirely his fault. He did it to help the girl he loves and his brother and then he got caught up in all the wrong things. I still like him, because I really loved him in the beginning, but I think that he's at fault by not asking help. I do see where you're coming from, though and I agree that everyone just hates Nash like there is no tomorrow.

  5. I love these series! I'm so glad you like it, too! I like Nash a lot, but I've been Team Tod from the beginning. His witty comments are hilarious! I enjoyed My Soul to Keep, but the other books are even better!!! Especially the 5th (If I Die) and 6th (Before I Wake) books!

    1. Ahh, I'm really starting to enjoy this series, too:) I pre-ordered all the rest of the books in this series and I cannot wait to get them all and then finish it. I like that it's becoming its own and I can already see some growth in the characters:) Heh, Tod is great! :)

  6. Nash sounds like a good character if he could use his brain, not below the waist.
