I wasn't planning on posting more than twice this week to slowly get back into the habit of blogging (more about it in my August wrap up), but this topic simply could not be ignored. We all have huge TBRs, but it doesn't make us crave for new, gorgeous, haunting stories any less. Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite TV Shows

Hii, lovelies! Today's TTT is something I'm thoroughly excited to see. I have two big loves in addition to reading: music and tv shows. Yep, no reason to deny that I'm a tiny bit obsessed with my favorite shows. I'm always up to watching more of them and I really need to drop some *glares at PLL and TVD* Since music is so much harder to narrow down to ten, I chose TV shows. Let's see if we have any in common :)

Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR

Hey there, my lovelies! It's been a while since my last top ten list, but this topic was just perfect to get back on track with these. I'm great at making lists, but awful at following them so if you love something from this list, all the love and promoting goes! I need the extra excitement to follow this list through and to really try and give each one a chance :) If you're not participating on today's TTT, just leave some of your must reads in the comments, perhaps I can cheer you on a little too ;) Anyhow, this list was so hard to make, but I managed to come up with ten and then some, ha. Let's see what I picked, shall we? :)

Top Ten Tuesday: Popular Authors I've Never Read

This week's list isn't that hard to craft, because I'm so behind with many of the hype authors. I don't really know why, I guess it's because I'm afraid of the disappointment. Then again, I may be missing out on something amazing, so I really ought to start reading more hype books, yeah? lols. Anyhow, here are some of the authors who are extremely popular, but whose books I still haven't read yet.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Will Make You Swoon

After long considerations, I'm going to jump on waggon and start doing Top Ten Tuesdays again. I love seeing other people's posts and it's so fun to discuss all the books and authors that make our top tens on different lists. Today we're discussing books that make us swoon and it was so hard to choose from. Here are some of mine:

Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi. Whether it’s the romantic moments between Roar and Liv or Perry and Aria, there are swoony friendship moments, bromance moments, family moments—everything Rossi writes about is heartfelt, emotional and very character-driven. My favorite relationship is, of course, Perry and Aria’s romance, but Roar and Aria’s friendship and Perry and Roar’s bromance are close on its heels.

Easy by Tammara Webber. Can we all take a moment and appreciate the amazingness that is Lucas? Ha, when I think back to it, one scene makes Lucas sound like a creep (where he says that he used to watch Jacqueline before when he spotted her on campus and stuff), but without that one dialogue moment, everything else about him is perfection. He has brains, he’s brave, thoughtful, has great artistic skills and knows his material arts. He makes the best swoon moments in Easy.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. Heh. Wolf and Scarlet. ‘Nuff said.

Anything by Krista and Becca Ritchie. I just love everything they write and their concepts, jokes, character building—everything is amazeballs. Their books have some of the best swoon moments ever! Nick can agree with that wholeheartedly. I'm even gtting swoons from people who don't have their own book, so, what does this tell you? :D

On Dublin Street series by Samantha Young. Braden Carmichael—my favorite man of Scottish origin. He is absolutely swoon-worthy and Samantha sure knows how to write her scenes with the right dose of wicked humor and all things smexy. Aman approves, I'm sure :)

The Distance Between Us by Kasie West. If you’re looking for a sweet romance and self-searching, pick this up! There are lots of swoon moments by Caymen and Xander.

ANYTHING by Colleen Hoover. I think we have established that Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors. Ever. My favorite first non-kiss is written (in Hopeless and Losing Hope) by her and it’s amazing how a non-kiss can make you feel ALL THE FEELS. Then there’s Will Cooper and his slams. My favorite lines by him being:

“If I were a carpenter, I would build you a window to my soul. But I would leave that window shut and locked, so that every time you tried to look through it all you would see is your own reflection. You would see that my soul is a reflection of you.”

The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski. Absolutely everything in this book is mad of swoon. Well, the beginning excluded. Andrew and Camryn bring swoon to a new level.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. If I wasn’t team Chaol, I would be team Dorian. That’s how good SJM is with swoon, ladies and gents. She doesn’t only give you the romance swoon, but just as Veronica Rossi, she gives you friendship swoon and bromance swoon. Even the villain swoon lol. The puppy scene, the books scenes, the ball scene, the falling asleep scene, the training scenes, the hug scene at the very end with a small thank you—everything in this book is made of swoon.

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. Last but not least, Cricket Bell, my lovelies. Most of you love Étienne St. Clair, but my heart and respect belongs to this young inventor with a heart of gold. He is made of perfection and gave me so many swoon moments that I almost couldn’t handle it. The stars people!!! THE. STARS.

It was such a tough choice that I chose 10 of these lovely ladies and then put the others on a honorable mentions list down below. All of them deserve to be in the top ten and I think they're all absolutely fantastic! They've sacrificed a lot for their loved ones, been to battles beyond our imaginations, have great personalities and are just exceptional role models.

Top Ten Bookish People You Want To Meet (Authors, Bloggers, etc.)

Let’s say I’d host a dinner party and got to invite 10 so called bookish people. Here's what I'd do: host a dinner party for these ten writers and since I had such a hard time choosing them, I’d throw a banquet after the mentioned dinner in honor of this fabulous community of writers, bloggers and book lovers in general. I’d gladly invite guests of honor and every fellow blogger who’s interested in addition to these ten authors from different eras. Want to know which ten authors I’d be delighted to have dinner with? Check out their names as well as the guests of honor below. As for the bloggers, I’d let in anyone who’d be interested to join us and have a great time.

Top Ten Books That Make You Think (About The World, People, Life, etc.)

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This is my favorite book of all time. Absolute favorite! Number one. Best. If I were to pick one book to save from apocalypse, this would most definitely be it. Ugh. I just LOVE this book so butterflying much! If you haven’t read it, I command  advise you to pick this up immediately. It’s one of those books that stays with you forever and never leaves your heart or mind completely. It’s breathtaking how well Lee has described human nature and how gorgeous meanings can be found behind these complicated thoughts. I just love, love, love this book. ♥

The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher 

This book definitely got me thinking about the choices we make or don’t (want to) make and consequences thereafter. It’s all about choices in this novel and I literally thought about it afterwards for at least two days and couldn’t get my thoughts out of this tornado that was going on in my head.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry 

Yes, it’s a children’s book, but it’s full of philosophical and suprisingly simple, but extremely important thoughts on life and people. I love it! It’s a very short book and there are beautiful illustrations beside these smart ideas and thoughts. What an absolute joy to read!

Arc de Triomphe by Erich Maria Remarque 

I feel like as opposed to previous eras where one could  easily become sufficient in a chosen vocation, nowadays you’re nothing without a paper, stating you’ve finished Uni and gotten not only BA (more known as unfinished Uni degree) but MA as well, in your hand. In this book the male protagonist doesn’t own a passport so even though he is the best surgeon and saves lives on a daily basis, he cannot contribute to the society in the light of day since he is an immigrant. He is nothing without a piece of paper and I feel like our society is drifting towards that direction, too. No paper proving to have a degree from Uni (usually) equals no future.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I absolutely adore this book and it’s one of my favorite of all time. Have read it like at least 5 times and every time I do, I find something new to think about. Pride is one of people’s worst enemies, I know it’s mine. I don’t like to ask for help or feel like I’m failing. Who does? I don’t think there are that many people who do. Moreover, prejudice is a nasty beast, too, if you ask me. Judging a book by its cover or by other people’s opinions is quite ofthen the case in life.

Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover 

Man, how I love this book! Contemporary YA fiction is exciting and easy to follow, but a lot of the times it falls short on a deepful meaning behind the words. PoR has a very special place in my heart. I’m so unbelievably stubborn and it's easy to relate to Lake since she is stubborn, too. She puts Will through tests and the poor guy is doing his best to keep up with everything and prove to her that she is THE one for him and vice versa. When the final 1/3 of the book started, I was taken aback by a huge shock and Oh. My. Freaking. God. It was intense and got me thinking about life in general for days after I finished reading it.

My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult 

I am not actually a fan of this book in general, there were just too many things that bothered me, but it got me thinking about family problems and how we don’t take time to listen to each other, are so hung up on work, school and solving big problems that we don’t take notice of the small ones right in front of us that are in desperate need of our attention. In addition, the ending was a huge shock and I just wanted to stab this book in the heart with my tears.

The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger 

I always think of this book when someone talks about time travel. What if it really is possible? What if by choosing to do one thing you could change many lives? What if that changes the balance of the whole world? It’s crazy to think about and this book leaves you breathless with the writing style, plotline, ideas and everything else possible.

Chasing Nikki by Lacey Weatherford 

It’s such a great contemporary YA book and in addition to falling in love with the characters, after reading the book you feel like you’ve been to a class of life. Definitely got me thinking about our existence, love, life etc.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins 

It’s a great example of how the society is obsessed with reality TV, looks, wealth, fame etc. We are so hung up on material values that quite often we don’t even realize what actual wealth is: loving someone, being loved, home, support, kindness, selflessness, bravery. I love the hidden meanings behind the words and different scenes. I think one can define this piece of work as a satire of the modern society. In addition to a gripping story with kick-ass characters it gives you a lot to think about.

Top Ten Favorite books I have read during the lifespan of my blog

It's my first year as a blogger and I have read so many great books during this year that I can't really compare them or choose one instead of another. Therefore, I put them in random order and at the very end you can find a few books I'd like to mention which did not make it to this so called top ten but I'd recommend them in a heartbeat if asked. Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

Okay. Here’s the deal. I’m not going to explain “why” with each character, I’ll just state it here that I know they have difficulties in their lives and sometimes it seems like these obstacles are completely insurmountable, but these gals are awesome! They’ve got great friends, they’re loyal, loving, kick-ass (even if they don't do that in the literal sense of this phrase, they're still bright, strong and witty) characters and it’d be fun and thrilling to spend a day in their skin and to get to know their situations even better. So that’s why I chose these characters, however, it was a difficult choice and I had to leave out so many good characters starting with Alex from the Covenant series, Tessa from the Infernal Devices series, Layken from the Slammed series, Samantha from “My Life Next Door”, Sydney from the Bloodlines series etc. I love all of them and I’d love to get a glimpse of their life for real. That’s the reason why I, again, drew these out of a hat randomly. All right, want to know who made it? Here you go:

You get why I think Ms. Granger is one of the most amazing characters ever, right?
Would love to experience 24 hours as her, although, I bet I'd get Harry and
Ron killed like in the first 5 minutes. Probably even less than that.

Top Ten Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

It’s definitely one of the most vivid worlds I’ve ever read about and at times the description was too much for me and I couldn’t keep up with all of it. 

The Mortal Instruments (and The InfernalDevices) by Cassandra Clare

This series has it all: a secret world with Shadowhunters, demons, angels, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and faeries – just pick whatever you like! Plus, the Shadowhunters have their own little incredibly beautiful little country – Idris.

Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

Who hasn’t read Harry Potter? Okay, that was a rhetorical question because some people probably haven’t, but if you have I’m pretty sure you agree with me on this one. Harry Potter has one of the most amazing worlds I have ever read about and I bet I will not forget it until the day I die. It’s absolutely wonderful!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I love how she’s created this world of vampires who have their own royalty, schools, councils etc. There are two kinds of vampires: moroi – the good ones who each control different elements such as water, fire, earth, air and the most rare one – spirit; strigoi – the bad ones who feed from moroi. Then there are dhampires – descendants of moroi and humans who protect moroi from strigoi. It’s really hard to understand at first, but once you read it, you just cannot get enough! 

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This is the novel that introduced dystopian novels to the masses. It’s fantastic to think about how S. Collins has made this society look and even though I must say that sometimes it kind of creeps me out and depresses me how people can turn up like this, it’s still one of the most amazing books I’ve ever read and I’m simply amazed how well she’s created this future world. The Capitol of Panem is one freaky place, I tell ya!

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

I liked the first book which introduced us the world of compellers, witches, incubuses etc and I really liked the setting. The second book made us dig even deeper and it turned out to be even cooler.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

I haven’t finish it (I plan on finishing it whenever I get my book back from a friend), but I really, really liked the setting. Once a month a boy comes out of a box and he doesn’t remember anything from his life. Now that he’s finally made it, he must learn how to survive, because they’re all locked on a field in the middle of a maze. Everyone has to work together in order to survive, because they want a way out of there, to figure out how they even got there. Every night at the exact same time the walls close and whoever’s left out there will not survive, since there are creatures out in the maze that you couldn’t have imagined even in your wildest dreams (or nightmares.. yep, nightmare's more accurate).

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

I somehow haven’t gotten through the second book, I always end up reading half of it and then leave it unfinished, however, this series has a great world created by an author who started this book when he was just fifteen years old. How cool is that? This book also has one heck of a vivid world and it’s definitely worth exploring if you haven’t read this series yet.

Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne

I loved Winnie the Pooh when I was a little girl and there wasn’t a time when I wouldn’t have wanted to go to the Hundred Acre Wood and live and play there with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Roo, Rabbit, Eeyore, Owl and Christopher Robin. It’s something I loved as a kid and still appreciate as a young adult since it was a huge part of my childhood. 

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

One of my favorite books! The story takes place in Japan which has this exotic culture and exotic people. I know it’s not the most realistic portrayal of Japan, but it’s still very vivid and creative. I love all the parties, costumes and customs. It’s definitely worth reading!

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

There aren’t enough words to express how much I love this book. It describes everything that’s wrong with the society and its standards perfectly and gives you something to think about for a long time. It’s a fairy tale of a young prince who visits different planets and learns things from roses, a fox, a king etc. It isn’t that long, but it is worth a lot more than a lot of the other books out there. The setting is absolutely brilliant!

Top Ten Books for People Who Like Adult Contemporary (or Mature YA) Books

Thoughtless by S. C. Stephens

Don’t fancy reading about cheating, but this book is so much more than that. What if the person you fall in love with, while in a commited relationship, is your soulmate? What if even when you love the person you’re with more than anything in the world is not your soulmate? What if friends grow to lovers and lovers grow to friends? What if you’re the only person in the world one can trust their whole life with? This is one of the best emotional stories I’ve read and I can’t even begin with how much I love Kellan Kyle. Ugh.. Definitely a recommend!

Love Unscripted by Tina Reber 

Haven’t we all dreamed of dating a handsome movie star? Well, Taryn hasn’t, but she’s going to get the chance to date one. Ryan and Taryn are the cutest little couple and they’re so great together. The only thing is that he’s Robert-Pattinson-famous and can’t even to a pub, shop, theatre, hotel without screaming fans already waiting for him. They follow him everywhere. Moreover, he’s surrounded by paparazzi 24/7. And there’s the fact that someone from his past is trying to break him up with Taryn. Can they take the heat, survive under the pressure and get their happily ever after?

Slammed by Colleen Hoover

Well, I didn’t read this one to be exact. Okay.. I read it, but I just went through it and didn’t read it correctly. But, I read “Point of Retreat“ which is the sequel to this book from Will’s POV (it’s not a parallel story to “Slammed“, it’s a sequel) and it was absolutely amazzzingg!! I loved  every second out of the sequel and I bet you will, too. Will’s just brilliant, sweet & hot and crazy in love with Lake. Not a chapter went by without me crying over this book. Also, if you're a fan of poetry, this book will melt your heart!

Bared to You by Sylvia Day

It's is like a better version of “Fifty Shades of Grey“. I know a lot of people love FSoG. In my opinion, it was okay, but the writing was poor and yeah.. Something was missing, although, Christian Grey is one hell of a guy! There isn’t that much kinky stuff in "Bared to You" and it was more to my taste than FSoG. It's is a story about two broken souls trying to commit to each other, but when they’re as broken as they are, will their relationship be as broken as well? Can this relation even exist?

Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard

This book is somewhat similar to BtY and FSoG since the male lead is more experienced and has fooled around while the heroine is more laid back. “Gabriel’s Inferno“ differs from the previous two books due to being more intellectual. There’s comparison to Dante and Beatrice and their lovestory which is similar to Gabriel’s and Julia’s. Also, this book doesn’t involve that much sex (while the sequel is supposedly more steamy in this category). I loved that Julia was very independent.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Have I mentioned already that I love Jamie McGuire and Travis Maddox? I cannot possibly waint for “Walking Disaster“ (BD from Travis’ POV) to hit the stores! Travis, what the heck did you do to me? I love him. I love this story and I love, love, love Abby, Shepley and America (best freaking bff everrr!!). There’s fighting, drinking, dancing, sex, love, crying, laughing and friendship like no other. It’s really a beautiful disaster and either ment to blossom or end up in the ruins.

The Moreno Brothers series by Elizabeth Reyes

Looking for a hot-blooded stunning brothers (and their friends) who are protective as hell over their love interests? They’re sweet, honorable, strong, hot, romantic and get easily heated. They’re the Morenos: Angel, Alex, Sal and Angel’s friends Eric and Romero. They’re so similar, but at the same time so different. It’s a pretty fun series with some sad moments and I bet you’ll love all of these five men if you give them a chance (my favorites are Alex, Sal and Romero). The first and the third one are more mature YA, but the other three definitely fall to the adult contemporary romance category.

Easy by Tammara Webber

I haven’t read this one, but I own a copy and want to read it so badly already. I’ve heard only great things about “Easy“, especially Lucas. I’d love to read it ASAP!

The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher

I don't even have the words to describe how unbelievably mad this book made me. Or how sad. Or how happy. I mean.. I gave this book a three on goodreads, beacuse I absolutely hated this book so I couldn't possibly give it a five. But I couldn't give it a one either, because I absolutely loved it. It was so, so heartbreaking, so sweet, so fun, so emotional, so traumatizing. It was a great book. Even more, it was a fantastic book! It left me speechless. I was drowning in the ocean I had created with my own tears whil I was reading this book. It was so effed-up and so.. Eh, I don't even know what else to say, just read it! You won't regret it. The main thing I loved about it is that every choice we make matters and we ourselves are the cause of our happiness (or sadness). I loved this books so much and hated it so much that.. Yeah, no words. Read it!
